Cardiovascular disease is one of Australia's biggest causes of death, killing one Australian every 12 minutes. Fortunately, heart disease is highly preventable.
So how healthy is your heart? You can try the Heart Foundation's new Heart Age Calculator to get an idea.
It will give you an assessment of your risk of heart disease, and might recommend you see a GP for advice if you are at high risk.
The Heart Foundation's website also gives lots of tips for keeping your heart in good shape, including being smoke-free, managing your cholesterol and blood pressure, being physically active, maintaining a healthy diet with a variety of nutritious foods (and limiting certain unhealthy foods), and looking after your mental health.
