UPDATE: 1 July 2024

COVID-19 Vaccine boosters

We have COVID-19 vaccine boosters in stock now.

COVID vaccine booster continue to be available for all patients aged 18 and over as follows:

  • If you aged 75+, a COVID booster is strongly RECOMMENDED every 6 months.

  • If you are aged 65-74, you are ELIGIBLE to receive a booster every 6 months (but a booster is only actually recommended every 12 months).

  • If you are aged 8 to 64 AND have severe immunocompromise, you are ELIGIBLE to receive a booster every 6 months (but a booster is only actually recommended every 12 months).

  • If you are aged aged 18-64 and are healthy, you are ELIGIBLE to receive a booster every 6 months.

  • If aged 5 to 17 AND have severe immunocompromise, you are ELIGIBLE to receive a booster every 6 months. Unfortunately, we are not able to stock COVID boosters for children aged under 12 due to low demand.

Use the COVID vaccine eligiblity checker to see if you are eligible for a booster, and whether getting a booster is a recommendation or merely an option.

Note: healthy children aged 17 and under are NOT currently eilgible to get COVID boosters.

The COVID vaccine is free for all eligible patients.

We offer COVID vaccines in bulk billed vaccine clinic sessions, which are available throughout the week. You can receive your flu vaccine at the same time.

At various times, we have either the Moderna Spikevax Omicron XBB.1.5 vaccine or the Pfizer Comirnaty Omicron XBB.1.5 vaccine, both of which are only approved for patients aged 12 and over. Unfortunately, due to supply issues, we may not be able to offer both vaccine at any particular time.

Bookings are available online. We can only vaccinate patients with a Medicare card.

Check the government’s Vaccine Clinic Finder for vaccine locations offering other COVID-19 vaccine types, including those suitable for patients aged under 12, and for locations that can vaccinate people without Medicare.

You can also check the government website for eligiblty details.

We now also flu vaccines available, meaning people aged 12+ can opt to get a flu vaccine and COVID vaccine at the same time.

patients with no medicare

Unfortunately, we are not able to give the COVID-19 vaccine to patients without a Medicare card.

Check the government’s Vaccine Clinic Finder for vaccine locations offering vaccines to patients without Medicare (once you go to the link, tick the box at the bottom of the form to find clinics that can help you).

Preparing for your vaccination

Before your vaccination appointment, you should make sure your details are up to date with Medicare.

If you don’t have your account set up, you can:

  • enrol in Medicare, if you’re not already enrolled;

  • set up your Medicare online account if you’re enrolled in Medicare, but don’t have Medicare linked to myGov; or

  • get an Individual Health Identifier (IHI), if you’re not eligible for Medicare.

Please do not come to your vaccination appointment:

  • if you are feeling unwell with fever, cough, runny nose or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19;

  • if you are waiting for COVID-19 test results, or have tested positive for COVID-19

  • if you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19; or

  • if you are in quarantine.

To keep you and your community safe, before and after vaccination, it is important that you continue to:

  • Stay 1.5 metres away from other people and avoid handshakes and contact with people outside your household.

  • Stay home if you feel unwell and get tested for COVID-19. You must stay at home until your results come back.

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or use hand sanitiser.

  • Always cough or sneeze into your arm or a tissue and put the tissue in the bin straight away. To learn more about COVID-19 vaccines, visit health.gov.au
