Childhood Immunisations
Immunisations are a critical part of your child’s healthcare routine, helping to protect them from preventable diseases. At North Brighton Medical Centre, we offer a full range of childhood vaccinations, including those listed in the Victorian Immunisation Schedule. Our friendly and experienced practice nurses, Nicole Franz and Lisa Sanders, are experts in administering vaccines such as:
Victorian Immunisation Schedule Vaccines
Catch-up Immunisations
Annual Flu Vaccines
Travel Vaccines
For eligible patients, childhood immunisations are bulk billed under the National Immunisation Program (NIP). Some optional vaccines (such as the Bexsero/Meningococcal B vaccine, and travel vaccines) must be purchased from us - ask our Nurse or receptionist about prices. Contact our team for pricing information. Book Your Child’s Immunisation Appointment Online Today.
Immunisation clinic appointments can now be booked online, or you can call us on 03 8506 9949 to book.
Bulk billing for immunisations is not available for new patients, nor for immunisation appointments booked outside of a vaccine clinic. Standard appointment fees (with discounts for children) will apply.
For information about why immunisations are important, see Health.vic and/or Immunisation Foundation of Australia.
Routine Health Checks for Children
Regular check-ups are essential to ensure your child is growing and developing healthily. Our GPs conduct thorough health assessments to monitor growth, developmental milestones, and general well-being. We also provide guidance on nutrition, sleep, and behavioural concerns.
Growth and Development Monitoring
Tracking your child’s growth is essential to ensure healthy development. As part of our routine health check-ups, our GPs assess growth indicators like height, weight, and head circumference, comparing them to age-specific growth charts. We also monitor developmental milestones such as motor skills, speech, and social interactions.
Our growth monitoring services help identify potential developmental delays, nutritional issues, or other health concerns, allowing us to provide expert advice and guide you on next steps. Additionally, we offer tailored guidance on nutrition and lifestyle to support your child’s overall development.
New to Australia? Make Sure Your Child’s Immunisation Records Are Up-to-Date
If you and your child have recently moved to Australia or returned after living abroad, it's essential to have your child’s overseas vaccination records uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). This step is crucial for complying with the No Jab, No Play policy, which is a government requirement for school, kindergarten, or childcare enrolment.
We offer a straightforward process to help you upload your child’s vaccination history to the AIR. Simply bring in your child’s vaccination records (translated into English if required), and we’ll take care of the rest. The administrative fee for this service is $80 per child, or $50 per child for multiple children.
Once uploaded, you will receive an AIR Immunisation History Statement, which is required for enrolment in educational and childcare settings. If your child requires catch-up vaccines, we will advise you on the necessary vaccines and assist with booking appointments. Catch-up vaccines for children under 20 are free under the NIP.
