Check out our Flu Vaccine FAQs for more details about the flu vaccine and why you should get one, especially if you are in a high-risk group.
We have already seen some cases of the flu this year, so we recommend you don't delay getting your vaccine any further, especially if you are in a high risk group and qualify for a free flu vaccine, such as:
all children aged six months to less than five years;
all adults aged 65 years and over;
all people aged from six months with medical conditions predisposing them to severe influenza; for example, sever asthma, lung or heart disease, low immunity or diabetes;
pregnant women (during any stage of pregnancy); and
all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged from six months.
Flu vaccines are otherwise $20 with a valid Medicare card, or $45 without.
